Women’s basketball picked to win Mountain West Conference

Womens basketball picked to win Mountain West Conference

The TCU women's basketball team is the preseason favorite to win the Mountain West Conference.

The Frogs received 12 of 20 first-place votes from MWC coaches and select media members. San Diego State received seven votes and Colorado State received one.

Junior forward Starr Crawford was named to the preseason all-conference team. Last season she led the conference in rebounding.

The Horned Frogs are a young team this season. Antoinette Thompson is the team's lone senior.

The Frogs finished second in the MWC last season and were invited to the women's National Invitational Tournament where they lost in the first round to Oral Roberts. This is TCU's last season before moving to the Big 12.

The poll was made up of MWC coaches and select media members.

The Frogs start the season Nov. 11 when they travel to the University of Georgia to take on the Bulldogs.
