Professor who brought computer science to campus dies

The TCU flag will fly at half-staff today in honor of professor Alex Hoffman who passed away on Oct. 19.

Dr. Hoffman came to TCU in 1961 where he taught math and physics.

He retired in 2000, but not before he created the Computer Center and began the computer science program on campus.

His memorial service was held over the weekend.
