Frogs face Lobos tonight

The TCU women’s soccer team returns to action tonight when they travel to New Mexico for the regular season finale. First kick is scheduled for 6 p.m CT.

TCU is currently tied with Air Force for sixth in the conference. The Frogs (7-9, 1-4) will be trying to notch their eighth win of season and jump out of last place in the Mountain West standings.

But in order to do that the Lady Frogs will have to beat a 9-4-2 New Mexico team that hasn’t lost since Sept. 16 and currently sits atop the MW standings with a conference record of 3-0-2.

Plus, TCU will have to rebound after dropping a 2-1 decision to Boise State at Boise last Friday. Senior Jordan Calhoun netted the lone goal for TCU against the Broncos. The score was the Norman, OK native’s sixth goal of the season and 35th of her career. Calhoun is TCU’s all-time leading goal scorer.

The first round of the Mountain West Championships is set to begin Thursday in Albuquerque.

Notes: TCU may be last in the Mountain West record-wise, but the team is first in home attendance. The Frogs have drawn an average of 1,731 fans in nine games this season for a total of 15,583…TCU hosted New Mexico in last year’s regular season finale and tied the Lobos 1-1…Calhoun ranks second in the Mountain West with three game-winning goals this season.
