Frogs defeat UNLV 3-0

TCU defeated the UNLV Rebels 3-0 last night in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The Lady Frogs are currently ranked 2nd in the Mountain West Conference standings after their 3-0 win against Boise State this past Saturday.

The recent full sweep of TCU’s last three opponents was a big encouragement for the team, senior outside hitter Jordan Raines said.

The winning streak helped the team work hard for Thursday’s game, she said.

“We just have a lot of momentum going into the match,” she said. “We’ve been really consistent, and hopefully that will carry through and help us win.”

Raines, who led the team with 19 kills during the Boise State game on Oct. 29, said the team has been really focusing the past few weeks in order to come out strong this weekend.

The team currently stands at 20-4 overall and at 7-3 in conference play. A win against UNLV on Thursday would be a great motivation to perform well on Nov. 5 against San Diego State, Raines said.

“I think if we win in four against UNLV then it’ll definitely carry throughout the weekend,” she said.

Despite losing three out of eight games in October, Raines said the team is concentrating on their previous mistakes in order to have a strong November record.

“We fixed a lot of the things we needed to fix, so I think we’ll get two wins for this weekend,” she said.

The game against San Diego State is scheduled for 2 p.m. this Saturday in San Diego, California.
