The TCU volleyball team staved off a Colorado State comeback to down the Rams 3-2 and clinch their first win over a ranked opponent Thursday night at the University Recreation Center.

Senior outside hitter Jordan Raines led the way for the Lady Frogs (22-5, 9-4), to notch 18 kills and racking up 19 total points. Freshman Stephanie Holland added 15 kills to go along with a team-high .667 attack percentage.

CSU (18-5, 11-2) was ranked 23rd in the latest AVCA poll.

TCU got out to a quick start, winning the first two sets to take a commanding 2-0 lead. CSU got on the board with a 25-18 third-set win then took the fourth set 25-20.

But TCU would rebound and clinch the match with a 15-11 fifth-set victory.

The TCU volleyball team will play its last conference game against Wyoming Saturday at 1 p.m. in the University Recreation Center. Wyoming is currently ranked fourth in the Mountain West, and TCU is ranked second.

The Lady Frogs beat the Lady Cowboys 3-2 (25-22, 25-21, 21-25, 21-25, 15-8) earlier this season on Oct. 13. Megan Munce led the way with her first career triple-double.

Wyoming fought hard against the Horned frogs, but TCU pushed for the win. In the final match Kristen Hester had two back-to-back kills making the score 11-6 and forcing a Wyoming timeout. After the timeout, three errors by the Cowgirls and an ace by Hester gave the Frogs the final win.
