First-year forward Chelsea Prince scored a team-high 15 points and sophomore center Latricia Lovings grabbed eight rebounds, but it wasn't enough. The TCU women's basketball blew a first-half lead and lost 64-60 to Hartford Friday afternoon in the opening round of the UCF Thanksgiving Classic in Orlando, Fla.
The Lady Frogs (1-4) held a 30-27 halftime lead and were up 57-54 with 4:56 left in the game. But the Hawks (4-0) would rally back, going on a 10-3 run in the last three minutes of the second half and handing TCU its third straight loss.
Senior Antoinette Thompson and junior Whitney Williams each scored 13 points for TCU.
The Lady Frogs shot 43.1 percent from the field as opposed to Hartford, which only shot 36.4 percent.
Hartford was led by Daphne Elliot, who had a team-high 21 points. Ruthanne Doherty notched a double-double for the Hawks, scoring 11 points and bringing down 11 rebounds.
Friday's loss was TCU's third in eight days. The Lady Frogs lost to cross-town rival SMU 47-38 last Thursday and dropped an 85-79 decision to North Carolina State at home Sunday.
TCU will be back in action on Saturday when they face Fordham. Tip-off is set for 11 a.m.
