Carjacking at Old Rip’s

The Fort Worth Police Department informed the TCU Police Department of an off-campus crime alert that occurred in the Old Rip’s parking lot at approximately 9:44 p.m. Wednesday night.

According to a campus-wide email, a man approached the victim – a woman who is not a TCU student – as she was getting into her car. The suspect opened the woman’s driver door, grabbed her and pulled her from the vehicle.

The victim struggled and fought with the suspect until he seemed to be reaching for a weapon, when she abandoned the car. The suspect entered the vehicle and fled the scene.

According to the alert, the Fort Worth Police Department verified that the suspect tried to steal beer from 7-11 before running from the store clerk and using the victim’s car to get away.

In the alert the suspect is described as “a white male with gray or blond hair that was pulled back. He appears to be in his early 40s, approximately 200 pounds and of average height.”
