Initial appearances begin for six students arrested last month

Court appearances for six people charged in the Feb. 15 drug arrests began last week.

During the investigation, Fort Worth Police arrested 24 people in February based on information gathered during a six-month investigation of drug sales near TCU’s campus, according to the arrest warrants and police reports.

Katherine Petrie, Jordan Sherman and William Joseph Hoffman each had their initial appearances on Thursday morning. Petrie was represented by her defense attorney, Mark Daniel. Sherman was represented by his defense attorney, Ron Peacock, and Hoffman was represented by Al Lazarus.

Petrie and Sherman each were informed by their defense attorneys of their charges and rights to a lawyer on Thursday at the Tim Curry Justice Center. Both were charged March 7 with delivery of marijuana between a quarter-ounce and five pounds.

Hoffman was charged with delivery of a controlled substance less than 28 grams in a drug-free zone and also made his initial appearance on Thursday.

William Davis Jennings and Devin Johnson each appeared in court on Friday morning. Jennings was represented for his initial appearance by Daniel. Johnson appeared with his defense attorney, Natherral Washington, to hear his bond status and conditions.

Jennings was charged March 8 with three counts of delivery of marijuana between a quarter-ounce and five pounds and one count of delivery of a controlled substance less than 28 grams in a drug-free zone.

At the appearance, Johnson worked on setting up his pre-trial, whose date has yet to be determined. Johnson was charged March 8 with three counts of delivery of marijuana between a quarter-ounce and five pounds.

According to online criminal justice records, Earl Patrick Burke was scheduled to appear in court to hear his bond status and conditions on Friday. Burke’s defense attorney was not available for comment on Burke’s status.

Cameron Jacob Forgie is scheduled to make his first appearance Tuesday.
