Dean of the College of Science and Engineering resigns

Demitris Kouris, dean of the College of Science and Engineering, has resigned, Provost Nowell Donovan said in an e-mail Tuesday.

Phil Hartman, chair of the pre-health professions program, has been named interim dean, according to the e-mail.

Kouris, who had previously taught at Arizona State University and the University of Wyoming, served as dean of the College of Science and Engineering since July of 2009.

"I would like to thank Dean Kouris for all of the fine things he has done — he will be missed in many ways," Donovan said in the e-mail.
