TCU to host Armed Forces Bowl in December

The Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl will return to TCU this year after a two-year stay at SMU, the bowl announced Thursday.

The game will be played Dec. 29 at 10:45 a.m. at Amon G. Carter Stadium and will be aired on ESPN.

The bowl was moved to SMU's Gerald Ford Stadium in 2010 due to the renovations at Horned Frogs' stadium, which is scheduled to be complete by September.

Air Force beat Houston 47-20 on Dec. 31, 2009, the last time the game was played in Fort Worth.

Boise State beat TCU 34-31 in the inaugural Armed Forces Bowl in 2003.
