    Off campus crime alert issued, robbery on Berry Street

    Fort Worth Police notified TCU Wednesday of an aggravated robbery at Radio Shack at about 10:30 a.m. just south of campus on Berry Street, according to a campus-wide email.

    The suspect is a Hispanic male approximately in his 20s with slight facial hair wearing a black baseball cap, a large baggy black short sleeve shirt and blue jeans, according to the police report. The suspect had a tear drop tattoo on his right cheek and a large unknown tattoo on the right side of his neck.

    While the suspect indicated he was armed but he did not display a weapon. He ran south on Berry Street, according to the email.

    Students, faculty and staff were advised of the following:

    Do:

    CALL CAMPUS POLICE FOR ESCORTS at 7777.

    Leave outside lights on at night and keep lights on in more than one room.

    Secure all doors and windows.

    Before walking several blocks home from campus call for an escort.

    Always lock your door when going to the restroom.

    Keep car doors locked at all times; even if you are going into a place for a short time.

    Always look in your back seat before entering your car.

    Always have keys ready to unlock the car door and enter without delay. Never walk across the parking lot digging in your purse for your keys. Have them in your hand before leaving a building.

    Always park in well lighted areas.

    Don't:

    DO NOT WALK ALONE!

    DO NOT JOG ALONE!

    DO NOT ENTER YOUR RESIDENCE ALONE IF ANYTHING SEEMS SUSPICIOUS.  

    DO NOT PROP DOORS OR WINDOWS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!

    DO NOT EXIT YOUR VEHICLE WITHOUT BEING AWARE OF YOUR SURROUNDINGS.
