Patterson to fans: “From the bottom of my heart, I love you.”

Patterson to fans: From the bottom of my heart, I love you.

Gary Patterson accepted a crystal football trophy after Saturday night's win, commemorating his 110th victory at TCU, which made him the winningest coach in school history.

"From the bottom of my heart, I love you," Patterson told the remaining TCU fans at Amon G. Carter Stadium during the mini-ceremony on the field after the game.

Some more notable postgame quotes from Saturday night:

Patterson on the Frogs' first game: "If you were going to script a first ballgame, this would be the way we would want to do it."

Patterson on getting a little emotional after the game: "Fort Worth raised me as a head coach…Just don't tell my players I'm soft."

Junior safety Elisha Olabode on his big 28-yard interception return for touchdown in the first quarter:  "At first it wasn't that easy because I kind of got it between my legs. I just took a deep breath, grabbed it and went."

Olabode on opening the season: "It felt great. Last week, we didn't play a game. We basically sat at home and watched everyone play football…It felt good to finally go out there and see what we got."

Junior receiver Josh Boyce on being on the team that gave Patterson the school win record: "It's great. Like I've been saying, for 15 years, keeping the same coaching staff and consistently be winning. I mean, that's real great and show how much your coach really cares about football."

Junior quarterback Casey Pachall on throwing a perfect 9-for-9 game: "That's my first. High school or college. That's my first. I was kind of aware of it. Whenever I was playing, it was kind of one of those things like a pitcher when he's throwing a no-hitter. Don't say anything. Don't talk about it. Just go out there and play."

Pachall on TCU making its Big 12 debut next week at Kansas, who lost to Rice Saturday: "It's going to be fun. They're going to give us there best shot whenever we roll in there. We have to come with the right focus and the right mindset."

Pachall on offseason news: "We haven't been focusing on that at all coming into camp. All of that was in the past after it happend. We've just stayed focus this season."
