Both the men and women swim teams pleased head coach Richard Sybesma with their win against UT-Permian Basin on Monday.

The Frogs men’s team beat the Falcons 105-81. The women’s team beat the Falcons 101-81. Total, the Frogs won 19 out of 20 events moving the Frogs 1-0 in the season.

“I am happy with how our team competed,” Sybesma said. “They did a good job in the water and won the class. We have had a good trip with both team bonding and training.”

Freshman Harrison Bui took three wins from his first collegiate swim meet. Sybesma said Bui could try to fill Edgar Crespo’s spot.

Crespo competed in the 2012 Olympics representing his country, Panama. He also broke four school records.

Another freshman, Sara Brzozowski, came back with two wins. Sybesma said Brzozowski had good times at the start of her TCU career.

“[Swim coaching staff] are looking for big things from her in events ranging from the 200 free to the mile,” Sybesma said.

Senior Devin Price won the 50 free and helped his relay team win the 200 medley.

The fifth annual varsity alumni meet will be Oct. 20 in the TCU Rec Center Natatorium. The meet is set to start at 10 a.m.
