Womens tennis team to play SHSU

The TCU women’s tennis team look to move to 2-0 on Sunday against Sam Houston State University.

The team is currently ranked No. 37 and is 1-0. The Frogs won their first match 6-1 against Nicholls State on Jan. 20.

“It’s a situation we are in control of. It’s just a matter of how we play, and it's an opportunity to get matched toughness,” head coach Dave Borelli said.

This will be the third time the Frogs match up against the Bearkats. The last time these two teams met was in 2000.

“We are a pretty balanced team from 1-8, and on a given day, anybody can beat anybody," Borelli said. "We're pretty solid all the way.”

SHSU is currently 0-1 and will face SMU on Saturday before coming to Fort Worth.

This will be the second of seven straight home matches for the Frogs to open the season.

“My only goal is that I’m not going to worry about end results," Borelli said. "I just want everyone to have fun and get some match practice and do the best we can."

Match time is at 10 a.m on Sunday on the Bartzen Varsity Court.
