Former Frog Darrell Browder to be honored at halftime

Darrell Browder

The TCU men’s basketball program will honor former Frog Darrell Browder at halftime at the West Virginia game.

Browder is the all-time leading scorer for TCU with 1,886 total points at 16.1 per game. He played under coach John Killingsworth on the “Killer Frogs” team. The All-Southwest Conference First-Team selection holds career records for minutes played (4,378) and field goals (803) and sits in the top five in starts (No. 3, 114), assists (No. 4, 459) and steals (No. 5, 129).

The Houston Rockets took Browder with the 71st overall pick in the fourth round of the 1983 NBA Draft. He became a member of the TCU Lettermen’s Association Hall of Fame in 1999.

The game will also be the university's Lettermen’s Day, where all former Frog basketball players are welcomed back to campus.

Teddy Bear collections

The TCU Student-Athlete Advisory Council will be collecting teddy bears at the West Virginia game. All bears will be donated to Cook Children’s Hospital, and the drive will continue throughout February at various home men and women’s basketball games.
