A few members of the university's track & field team will have their last chance to qualify for the NCAA Championships this weekend.

Five different sites host NCAA Qualifier meets to allow athletes to compete one last time before the NCAA Championships. The meets focus on individual athletes qualifying instead of scoring teams.

Chaniqua Corinealdi will be competing at the University of Arkansas on Friday in the 60-meter and 200-meter dash. She will have two chances at the 60-meter dash and one chance at the 200-meter dash.

Corinealdi is TCU’s first Big 12 Champion after winning the 60-meter dash. She is tied for 15th nationally in the 60-meter dash and ranked 16th for the 200-meter dash.

Head coach Darryl Anderson said Corinealdi has been running well lately and will compete to protect her spots.

The men’s 4 x 400 relay team will compete at Notre Dame on Saturday. Ronnie Baker, Raymond Bozmans, Harvey McSwain and Joshua Washington have one chance to qualify for the NCAA.

This relay team did not compete at the Big 12 Indoor Championships due to illnesses.

Anderson said that even though the team is young, he thinks they can take the next step and qualify this weekend.
