TCU couldn't hang on to a four run lead as the Frogs fell behind to the Dallas Baptist Patriots in the seventh inning and lost 5-4 in Fort Worth Tuesday.
“We embarrassed TCU today and I apologize for that,” TCU head coach Jim Schlossnagle said. “It’s not something that TCU fans are accustomed to and that’s something they shouldn’t be accustomed to.
“The game of baseball at its simplest is just a game of pitch and catch and we struggled to do that.” he continued. “Ultimately, that’s on me.”
Schlossnagle said some changes will be made in short order and others are going to take more time.
TCU (9-15) extended its home-game losing streak to three games. DBU (14-11) finished its five-game road trip with three wins and two loses.

TCU followed with two productive innings. To start the fourth, Paul Hendrix walked, stole second and advanced to third. Derek Odell hit a sacrifice fly to right field, scoring Hendrix to extend the Frogs’ lead 3-0.
In the fifth, Cody Jones singled to shallow left. He stole second and an error on the play allowed him to advance to third. White followed by grounding out but Jones came around to score, putting the Frogs up 4-0.
DBU responded in the sixth with its first run. Nash Knight lead off with a base hit to center field but the throw from the outfield landed in the dugout, placing Knight on third base. Then, RJ Talamantes was hit by a pitch. Knight scored on a fielding error at first. After two at-bats, Talamantes landed on third. Boomer Collins singled to center field, bringing home the runner.
The Patriots rallied to take the lead in the seventh. Austin Listi doubled to left center and advanced to third on a wild pitch. Knight followed with a walk. Listi came home on a wild pitch to put the Patriots in reach of the Frogs 4-3. Talamantes singled through shortstop, placing Knight on third.
Senior right-hander Justin Scharf relieved junior right-hander Stefan Crichton for TCU. Jaime Garrido was safe at first on a fielder's choice while Knight scored to tie the game. Collins singled to center field, bringing home Garrido for the 5-4 lead.
