TCU associate athletics director hired by Clemson

Clemson University hired Davis Babb, a TCU associate athletics director, as the new chief executive director of IPTAY.

IPTAY provides millions of dollars in scholarships for Clemson student athletes and non-athletes. It also gives support to Clemson athletic programs and facilities.

Babb was named TCU’s associate athletics director for external operations in 1998. He moved to associate athletics director for development in 1999. Babbs increased corporate revenue and ticket sales, served as a liaison to the alumni association and supervised media relations, marketing and promotions.

While at TCU, Babb helped raise $250 million for 25 new or renovated athletic facilities and endowed and annual scholarships. He led the campaign to gather $143 million for the Amon G. Carter Stadium renovations that were finished for the 2012 season.

Babb coached tennis at Furman University for two years and served as the athletics director at the Virginia Military Institute before coming to TCU.
