TCU director of intercollegiate athletics Chris Del Conte announced the promotions of two TCU athletics employees this afternoon in a press release.

Mike Sinquefield, former director of football operations, was promoted to associate director of athletics, while Matt Lewis, former assistant athletics director, was promoted to director of football operations.

According to his biography, Sinquefield began his TCU career in 1994 as the athletics equipment manager and eventually took over as director of football operations in 2000, when Gary Patterson became head football coach. In 2011, FootballScoop.com named him Director of Football Operations of the Year.

"Through his long tenure at TCU, Mike is an invaluable resource to our athletics staff as well as the campus and Fort Worth communities," Del Conte said in the release. "We're very excited to take his tremendous organizational and administrative skills into a broader leadership role within our department."

Sinquefield’s duties will include the oversight of the football program among additional administrative matters, according to the press release.

Lewis, previously TCU’s equipment manager, was promoted to assistant athletics director in 2011, according to the press release. He received the Athletic Equipment Manager Association’s Glenn Sharp Award in 2010 and served as the associate executive director of the AEMA.

“Matt is a perfect fit for his new role in our football program and becoming an even more integral part of Coach Patterson’s staff,” Del Conte said.
