The Staff Assembly is planning a college intro night that will give resources to students regarding how to get into college and stick with it.

This night will include a barbecue and information session for high school and middle school students on Sept. 30 from 6 to 8 p.m., Matt Millns, a member of the College Resources Committee, said.

Most young adults have the opportunity to go to college, but Millns said this intro night will give them the tools and resources that will enable and qualify them to attend a four-year university.

The Media Communications Committee also gave a brief report of some of their expectations for this year.

Chair-Elect Sheri Milhollin said this committee will divide into two sub-groups. One group will be in charge of updating the Staff Assembly website and the other group will be in charge of the newsletter.

“We will have deadlines for our newsletter submissions," Milhollin said. "Right now, the goal is to publish two newsletters per semester."

The group held its first meeting of the semester Tuesday afternoon at the Dee J. Kelly Alumni & Visitors Center. The meetings are held on the first Tuesday of every month to discuss issues and exchange ideas about programs or changes they wish to see regarding the TCU staff.
