Local authorities blocked off Bellaire Drive to investigate a reported suspicious package, which turned out to contain a box of binders.

Tracy Syler-Jones, vice chancellor of marketing & communication, said a professor was off campus and received a package with no return address. Upon arriving at TCU the professor became concerned and called  police to investigate.

The all clear was given at about 12:15 p.m.

While an investigation was underway officers directed foot traffic away from the parking lot, Syler-Jones said.

The parking lot was not closed, however, and concerned faculty and curious students stood nearby asking what was going on.

“If people need to get in their car and leave that’s fine,” said TCU police officer Bobby White before the all clear was given. “We just don’t want foot traffic walking through.”
