TCU set to take on A&M Friday

With its highest ranking in program history, the No.5 TCU equestrian team will try to extend its winning streak Friday against No. 9 Texas A&M.

The Horned Frogs are 2-0 in conference play after defeating Baylor and Kansas State. Texas A&M is 2-1, with a loss to Kansas State.

“We are excited to host a very good Texas A&M team before beginning some road trips in a very busy November,” said Director of Equestrian Haley Schoolfield. “The team is pushing through the weather elements in order to be prepared and confident for Friday’s meet. We are prepared and looking forward to a great day.”

The teams will be competing for the 10th time overall. Although the Aggies lead the all-time series 8-1, the frogs are 7-2 overall at Turning Point Ranch in their last nine outings, which could give them an advantage.

The Frogs will also have an advantage on the Hunt Seat side. Senior Caitlin Ader is 2-0 overall with one Most Outstanding Player (MOP) accolade in Equitation on the Flat. Senior captain Courtney Motz will try to improve to 2-1after earning a victory against Kansas State.

On the Western side, sophomore Chantz Stewart has received one MOP honor. In Horsemanship, junior Calli Rouse is currently unbeaten on the season.

The Aggies come into the match off of a victory against No. 3 South Carolina. Texas A&M upset the Gamecocks 10-9, dominating Horsemanship 4-1.

Live results will be made available on the official TCU equestrian Twitter page. Start time is set for 12 p.m. at Turning Point Ranch.
