TCU falls short against South Dakota State

The women’s basketball team was defeated by South Dakota State Wednesday evening, 57-52 despite Zahna Medley scoring a season-high 27 points.

The loss, which snapped the Frogs three-game winning streak, drops TCU to 4-2 and evens its record to 1-1 in the Hardwood Tournament of Hope.

TCU led for most of the first half, however South Dakota State rallied with a 14-4 run before Medley converted a bucket from distance for a 30-29 TCU lead at half.

The lead did not last as the Jacks quickly took over the game while TCU went on a cold streak, only hitting 19 percent (14 -73) of its shots for the entire game.

The Frogs will conclude the tournament at 6:30 p.m., CST on Thursday against Purdue.
