    TCU student falls from balcony, dies in California

    A 22-year old TCU student died from injuries from a fall in California early Wednesday morning.

    According to the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office, Matthew Nichols, a junior finance major, jumped or fell to his death from a balcony at the San Diego Convention Center, which was closed at the time.

    Responding paramedics attempted to resuscitate Nichols, but he was pronounced dead at 12:38 a.m., according to the Medical Examiner’s Office report.

    Nichols’ memorial service will take place Tuesday, Jan. 7, at Mariner’s Church at 5001 Newport Coast Drive, Calif.
