TCU sophomore pole vaulter Ben Kirbo has already set new program records, but he says he is far from done.

TCU Equestrian beats Oklahoma State, 12-8

No. 8 TCU is still in contention for a Big 12 Championship after taking a victory over No. 4 Oklahoma State by a 12-8 decision Saturday.

Sophomore Colby Plott took on two-time All-America honoree Katy Krshka in the final event of the day, Horsemanship. Plott beat Krshka 75.5-75, securing TCU’s win, according to GoFrogs.com.

Sophomore Erin Gillette also competed in the event, beating Ty Parris 76.5-73. Calli Rouse and Riley Morgan also beat their opponents Paris Nottingham and Lindsey McMullen, 76-73 and 73.5-73 respectively, according to GoFrogs.com.

“Our team knew Oklahoma State would be coming in with a lot of talent and a lot of momentum after some big wins this spring against Auburn and Kansas State,” said TCU Director of Equestrian Haley Schoolfield.

“These student-athletes practiced all week knowing they were going to win and it showed today,” Schoolfield said. “It was a great day for our seniors, especially for Caitlin Ader who was MOP in Equitation over Fences today on JC.”

According to GoFrogs.com, Chantz Stewart claimed an MOP accolade in Reining, Rouse took an MOP accolade in Horsemanship, and Ader earned her first MOP in Equitation.

Shelby St. Hilaire took a 69-67.5 victory in Reining over Erin Willoughby. Stewart won over Mackenzie Fugitt 73-68.5 in the same category, according to GoFrogs.com.

The Frogs recorded a 4-1 decision over the Cowgirls in Equitation over Fences, according to GoFrogs.com. Ader defeated Jordan Davis 86-77, earning MOP honors. Sophomore Nikki Diamantis also defeated her opponent, Andrea Robbins, 84-69.

According to GoFrogs.com, Taylor Alexander and Kaitlin Perry were also victorious in Equitation over Fences. Alexander beat Samantha Elser, while Perry took on Maggie Gampfer.

The Frogs lost to the Cowgirls in a 3-2 decision in Equitation on the Flat, according to GoFrogs.com.

TCU will next be in action Saturday, March 1 at SMU.
