Men’s 1600-meter and women’s 400-meter relay teams take third place

    The TCU men’s 1600-meter relay and women’s 400-meter relay teams both took third place Saturday at the 87th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays in Austin, Texas.

    The men’s 1600-meter relay University was comprised of Harvey McSwain, Sam Watts, Justin Chambers and Ronnie Baker, according to a TCU Athletic Media Relations press release.

    They took third place with a time of 3:08.60 minutes.

    The team from Stephen F. Austin State University took first place with a time of 3:06.60 minutes. Mississippi State University finished second with a time of 3:07.66.

    The women’s 400-meter relay invitational team also took third place with a time of 45.87 seconds. The team was comprised of Jasmine Sillemon, Sabrina Moore, Veronica Jones and NCAA long jump champion Lorraine Ugen.

    The women’s 1600-meter relay University/College took fifth place with a time of 3:38.93. Tiffany Terry ran in the relay along with her teammates, Veronica Jones, Alexandria Peters and Briyanni Thomas, according to the press release.

    TCU also came in eighth in two individual running events: the men’s 100-meter dash and women’s 1500-meter run Section A.

    Ronnie Baker took eighth place out of nine places in the 100-meter dash university with a time of 10.38 seconds. Baker finished in front of University of Mississippi’s Jalen Miller, who posted a time of 10.42.

    Baylor University’s Trayvon Bromell took first place in the dash with a time of 10.01 seconds, while Clemson University’s Reggie Lewis finished second with a time of 10.15. 

    TCU senior Tricia Terry took eighth out of 14 places in the Women’s 1500 Meter Run Section A Univ/Coll with a time of 4:21.91 minutes. 

    Terry finished in front of Baylor’s Rachel Johnson by 4 milliseconds. Johnson had a time of 4:22.31.

    University of Texas senior Marielle Hall took first place in the 1500-meter run with a time of 4:17.10 minutes. 

    The TCU Track and Field Team competes next at the Florida Relays in Gainesville, Fla., on April 4 and 5.
