Men’s tennis closes regular season with first Big 12 win

The TCU men’s tennis team closed their regular season with a 4-3 road win over No. 27 Texas Tech Friday night, giving the Frogs their lone Big 12 win.

“This was a great must win for the guys. It is tough to win here in Lubbock and our players handled it well,” coach David Roditi said in a release. “The doubles point was a focus point coming in and our No. 1 and No. 3 teams came through huge.”

The No. 13 duo of juniors Nick Chappell and Will Stein secured an 8-6 victory Friday night. The win was the duo’s team-leading 11th dual match win this season.

TCU, which improved to 12-11 overall, will now await its seeding in the Big 12 Championships. The tournament will be held at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center in Fort Worth next weekend.
