No. 10 Frogs secure series win over OU with 9-1 win on Senior Day

Coming off their first loss since April 12, the TCU baseball team bounced back Sunday afternoon to secure a series win over Oklahoma, winning 9-1 on Senior Day.

Nine different Horned Frogs crossed home plate and four had multiple hits in the win. Junior shortstop Keaton Jones led the way with three hits, a run and an RBI in four at-bats.

Sunday’s win was the 15th multi-hit effort for Jones. He’s now reached base safely in 11 straight contests.

Freshman lefty Tyler Alexander got the start on the mound for TCU, allowing only one run and no walks in eight innings of work. Alexander is now 7-3 on the year with a 2.23 ERA.

With the win, the Frogs improve to 36-14 on the year with a 15-6 Big 12 record. They’re one game behind Oklahoma State (38-13, 16-5 Big 12) for first place in the conference.

The Cowboys are the only Big 12 team TCU has lost a series to this season.

The purple and white finishes its seven-game home stand Tuesday night against Texas-Arlington (27-25, 16-11 Sun Belt). First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. from Lupton Stadium.
