The TCU women’s soccer team stretched its win streak to five games in a 4-1 victory over the SMU Mustangs Friday night.

After entering halftime tied at 1-1, the Horned Frogs scored three second half goals to ensure a win against their rivals SMU.

TCU had four different players score in the game, including Big 12 Newcomer of the Week Emma Heckendorn.

Heckendorn opened the scoring in the fourth minute after beating SMU goalkeeper Lissi Lonsberry one-on-one.

SMU would equalize eight minutes later after a long throw-in attempt deflected off of a TCU player for an own goal.

The Mustangs would carry momentum throughout the rest of the first half, outshooting TCU 8-4.

However, when the second half began, the run of play quickly turned to the Frogs’ favor.

Kela Gray, Lauren Sajewich and Eryn Spencer would all score in the second half for the Horned Frogs.

Spencer netted her first-career goal in the victory.

TCU will play its final non-conference match on the road against North Texas on Sunday at 1 p.m.
