To begin the game, a loss of eight on a screen pass and a big stop by linebacker Paul Dawson forced OSU to punt on its first possession.

A 57-yard pass to receiver Brandon Sheperd put OSU in TCU territory for the first time, and the Cowboys kicked a 27-yard field goal to make it 14-3 with five minutes remaining in the first.
Doctson decided to top his previous effort on the next drive, leaping to snag a ball over two Cowboy defenders and running 84 yards for the score. TCU led 21-3 after its longest offensive play of the season.
After an emphatic stop by the TCU defense, Boykin was picked off by an OSU defensive tackle on TCU’s following drive, and the Cowboys took over on their own 46-yard line.
The first quarter ended with OSU driving and trailing TCU, 21-3.
A pair of third down stops by the TCU defense in its red zone held OSU to two field goals on the Cowboys’ first two possessions of the second quarter, making it a 21-9 game.
Following three straight three-and-outs, Catalon capped a 7 play, 85-yard drive by scampering down the sideline for a 35-yard touchdown on fourth-and-1.
The TCU defense shut down the Cowboys on their last possession to force a punt with a minute left.
Oberkrom missed a 48-yard field goal short and right to end the half with TCU leading 28-9.
