TCU mens tennis moves on at Regionals

TCU is off to a promising start after the first day of the USTA/ITA Texas Regional Championships on Saturday in College Station, Texas.

Five singles players, and three doubles tandems have moved to the next rounds that begin Sunday at 9 a.m. on the campus of Texas A&M, according to GoFrogs.com

For singles, sophomore Hudson Blake defeated Jason Proctor of Abilene Christian University 6-3, 7-5 and will face No. 15 Shane Vinsant of Texas A&M on Sunday.

Freshman Guillermo Nuñez lost the first set of his match against Jhonathan Gonzalez of UT Arlington, but came back to win 4-6, 7-5, 7-6. He will face No. 112 Tony Lupieri Sunday.

Nick Chappell will also move into the next round for singles.

For doubles, Chappell and Stein will face Jolan Cailleau and Nicholas Melott of Texas Tech on Sunday.
