Women’s Basketball takes out Texas Southern 69-52

The 3-1 TCU women’s basketball team found a way to win over Texas Southern on Saturday evening.

Senior guard Donielle Breaux helped lead the Horned Frogs to a 69-52 victory at the University Recreation Center. Breaux dropped 17 points, posted 6 rebounds, had 4 assists and was 4-of-4 at the free-throw line at Saturday’s game.

Senior guard Natalie Ventress and junior guard Zahna Medley also posted double digits scores for the frogs. Ventress scored 13 points while Medley had 10.

The frogs led Texas Southern 31-27 at the half.

TCU led by 11 with seven minutes to play in the second half. Junior guard Veja Hamilton and Ventress followed each other with 3-point plays, which gave the frogs a comfortable 57-43 lead.

Hamilton followed up by posting seven points, passing off two assists and a getting a steal in just 11 minutes.

The team is set to play Colorado State on Nov. 28 at the OMNI Classic in Boulder, Colo.
