Don’t look now, but the TCU men’s basketball team is nearing uncharted territory.

The Horned Frogs beat the Rebels of Ole Miss on the road Thursday, increasing their record to an undefeated 8-0.

TCU is 8-0 for the first time since the 1997-1998 season, which was the last time the Horned Frogs reached the NCAA tournament.

With one more win, the Frogs will tie their best start in school history.

TCU dismantled Ole Miss with a balanced scoring attack and stifling defense.

Sophomore Karviar Shepherd led all scorers with 14 points and added a game-high 9 rebounds to help TCU amass a 43-33 rebounding advantage.

TCU’s Kyan Anderson, Brandon Parrish and Amric Fields all scored in double-digits as well.

Ole Miss shot 29.8 percent from the field while TCU shot an even 40 percent. TCU has held its opponents to 54 points or less in seven of its eight games so far this season.

The game was stopped for ten minutes after freshman Chauncey Collins fell during a rebound attempt and hit his head on the floor. The point guard was eventually able to walk off the court with assistance and tweeted out his status after the game.

The Horned Frogs won’t travel for another month, as TCU plays six consecutive games at home before a Jan. 7 matchup at Kansas State.

TCU’s next game is Tuesday, Dec. 9 against the 1-4 Furman Wildcats at 7 p.m.
