There are six projects underway with expected completion dates in 2015. The projects include the library, the multipurpose facility, Bass Building renovations, Walsh Performing Arts Center facade and sundial, and Colby Hall, according to the TCU Physical Plant website.
In addition, two parking garages are in the works.
Construction on the “Student and Event Parking Garage” in Lot 5 began on Dec. 7, with the Worth Hills parking garage following close behind in the spring, Harold Leeman, associate director for major projects and facilities planning, said.
“In May 2015, we will also start the demolition of Brachman Hall in preparation of starting the Worth Hills garage parking lot,” Leeman said.
In honor of the closing of Brachman Hall, residents are planning to host a celebration in the spring to reflect on the memories made by residents past and present, Brachman Hall Director Jeff Alexander said.
“We will be putting together something special for next semester as the year closes for alumni who have lived in Brachman and to celebrate an amazing hall,” Alexander said.
After the demolition of Brachman and completion of the Worth Hills parking garage next August, construction will head into sorority and fraternity housing, Leeman said.
“We will start the sorority homes in the [Worth Hills] parking lots,” Leeman said. “Then, we will tear down the buildings that parallel Berry Street to build more [Greek] homes heading into 2016.”
