TCU’s theEnd program is offering an alternative to Netflix and the bar scene this weekend in the form of the “silent party people.”

TCU students who come to party in the Brown-Lupton University Union Ballroom will be given wireless two-channel headphones that can be switched between the sound-systems of two DJs, according to the website. The DJs will be playing two completely different sets of songs from the top 40 list.

“It’s just a neat idea that we wanted to bring to TCU,” said Brad Thompson, assistant director for student activities.

Launched in the fall, theEnd program has gained a reputation for bringing comedians, musicians and unreleased movies to campus, but dance parties are not very common for theEnd.

“There’s only so many great comedians or bands that you can bring in,” Thompson said.

TheEnd is partnering with the Office of Housing & Residence Life for the event to increase student attendance, Thompson said.

“This is to promote through the halls,” said Thompson, “to make it kind of like socials for residence halls.”

Headphone Disco is scheduled to start at 10 p.m. on Feb. 7 in the BLUU Ballroom. All TCU students are welcome.
