After a second round that left the TCU Men’s Golf team in ninth place, the Horned Frogs climbed their way up to a fifth place finish at the Amer Ari Invitational in Waikoloa, Hawaii finishing ahead of five Top-25 teams.

Spanning three days from Feb. 5 to 7, the team ended up finishing only six strokes back of tournament champion, No. 25 Arizona State.

The top finisher for the Horned Frogs was senior Julien Brun, who shot an 8-under 64 on his final round placing No. 11 overall individually.

After teeing off with a bogey, Brun made no more errors over the next 17 holes, rolling in seven birdies and an eagle on the 501-yard par-5 18th hole.

Sophomore Chelso Barrett shot six birdies on his way to his second-lowest round of his career, shooting a 67 in his final round and finishing tied for No. 18.

Sophomore Giulio Castagnara had a final round of a 5-under 67 and finished tied for No. 50.

Junior Paul Barjon eagled the 513-yard par-5 fourth hole for the second time in the tournament and carded a 1-under 71 earning him a tie for the No. 19 individual slot.

Senior Andrew Presley finished the tournament on a strong note. After carding back-to-back scores of 74 throughout the first two rounds, Presley shot a 2-under 70 and tied for No. 68 to make a positive impact for the fifth place Horned Frogs.
