Frogs take first of three at Arizona State

Preston Morrison threw threw a complete game shutout to lead the No. 1 TCU baseball team to a 3-0 victory over No. 8 Arizona State on Friday.

The senior, now 2-0 on the season, only allowed four baserunners all night. Morrison retired 23 of the final 25 batters he faced.

The Frogs scored two in the top of the second. Center fielder Evan Skoug scored on a fielding error during a play at home plate. Shortstop Keaton Jones notched an RBI single later in the inning.

Designated hitter Connor Wanhanen scored on a double steal play in the top of the eighth.

TCU, now 5-0 on the season, continues its series against Arizona State at 2 p.m. Saturday. Sophomore Tyler Alexander will get the nod.
