Earlier in February, Football Scoop reported safeties coach Chad Glasgow and linebackers coach DeMontie Cross would be promoted to become co-defensive coordinators.

Head football coach Gary Patterson made the hires official Wednesday afternoon, according to a press release sent by TCU sports information director Mark Cohen.

This year will be Glasgow’s thirteenth coaching with Patterson. Glasgow was hired by Texas Tech in 2011 to serve as defensive coordinator for the Red Raiders, but he returned to Patterson’s staff in 2012.

Cross is entering his third year as an assistant coach for the Frogs. He previously coached Kansas’ linebackers in 2012 and served as Wisconsin’s safeties coach and special teams coordinator in 2011.

Patterson also announced the promotion of director of personnel for special teams Dan Sharp, who will become the Frogs’ defensive line coach. Sharp, a former TCU tight end, has spent 24 years on TCU’s coaching staff.

Graduate assistant Paul Gonzalez will take over the cornerbacks coach position after spending three seasons on Patterson’s staff. Before coming to TCU, he was the cornerbacks coach for Pacific University.
