TCU center fielder Cody Jones was given Big 12 Player of the Week honors Monday. 

Facing Loyola Marymount on Tuesday, Jones helped TCU pull out a road win with a two RBI single which gave the Frogs a 3-1 lead in the fifth inning.

The senior reached base 11 consecutive times during the Horned Frogs’ series sweep of Baylor. He went 8-9 at the plate, scored three runs, drew three walks, and had two doubles and two RBIs against the Bears.

In TCU’s last four games, Jones led the team with a .643 batting average and nine hits while recording nine putouts in centerfield.

Three different Horned Frogs have received weekly Big 12 recognition so far this season. Starting pitcher Preston Morrison was named as the Big 12 Player of the week after his performance at No. 11 Arizona State on Feb. 23. Alex Young received the same honor after getting the win at No. 4 UCLA on Saturday.
