Students are offered an incentive to receive an earlier time slot for registration by planning their next two semesters.
My Planner is located under the student center section of the myTCU portal. The goal of this function is to help students gain a better view of their college career, said Patrick Miller, the registrar and director of enrollment management.
Students are able to browse the course catalog and search for classes by their major.
This is the first semester this incentive is offered. Over 750 students have completed the steps to receive the earlier registration time slot so far, Miller said.
Miller also said the number of students who have completed the incentive has doubled after spring break.
To receive the incentive students must run their Degree Progress Core Report, then use the planner and schedule at least 24 hours for the fall 2015 and spring 2016 semesters, according to an email from the registrar’s office.
After completing the requirements, students planner should look like this:
Along with building a path to graduation, the incentive will hopefully help with advising sessions as well, said Miller.
When students plan out their schedule prior to advising, the sessions can be used more for mentoring rather than starting from scratch, said Miller.
Students can also have more meaningful conversations with their adviser about career goals, college goals and internships.
If students complete the requirements they will move up four time slots from their original registration time. Both time slots will be shown and students will follow the first one.
The incentive closes this Thursday.
