The men’s tennis team is the No. 3 seed at the Big 12 Conference Tennis Championships this weekend.

The recent Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) rankings saw TCU move from No. 7 to No. 6 in the polls. This is the highest ranking ever under David Roditi’s time as head coach.

This season’s overall record is 20-6 compared to last season’s 14-6.

The Frogs have seven different players represented in the ITA singles and doubles rankings. Senior Nick Chappell and first-year player Cameron Norrie are ranked in both polls.

The National Singles Rankings placed Norrie at No. 40, Chappell at No. 53 and first-year Guillermo Nunez at No. 59.

The National Doubles Rankings placed Chappell and senior Will Stein at No. 20 and first-year Trevor Johnson and Norrie at No. 29. The Norrie-Johnson duo has 18 wins on the season and has won their last six straight competitions.

The Frogs will face No. 6 seed Oklahoma State in their first match in the Big 12 Conference Tennis Championships.

Oklahoma State beat TCU in the first match of the 2014 Big 12 Conference Championships 4-2.

This season, TCU earned its first Big 12 Conference win of the season in March by defeating Oklahoma State 4-2.

“To see how the senior class has grown, developed the program and [helped] rebuild the program is incredible,” Roditi said.

Roditi said the team is eager to see what it can do at the Big 12 Conference Tennis Championships.

The Frogs take on the Cowboys on Friday at the Hurd Tennis Center in Waco at noon.
