Student artists will have their artwork displayed at the new Café Brazil, which opened under the GrandMarc.

Café Brazil CEO Brant Wood said other restaurant locations feature artwork from local artists that is available for purchase.

Casee Safford, a senior psychology major, said she met with Café Brazil’s Fort Worth manager about showcasing some of her artwork in the store. She said having her artwork on display would allow it to reach a greater audience.

Junior marketing major, Caitlin Locke, also said featuring student work would benefit the artists.

“If [student artists] have a piece that they are trying to advertise or are trying to get their name out there, they could post it at the restaurant and maybe get some awareness that way,” Locke said.

Locke said she thought the efforts of the restaurant to incorporate the university into it’s decor showed a sense of unity with the campus.

Wood said he will contact the university art department to determine how to put the wall of student art together.
