TCU junior shortstop Taylor Featherston became the second Horned Frog drafted on day two of the MLB First-Year Player Draft. The Colorado Rockies made him their fifth-round pick and the 168th selection overall.

In three years at TCU, Featherston has climbed into the top five in a pair of offensive categories. His 166 career runs scored ranks fifth all-time, while his 13 career triples is tied for third all-time with Mike Losa.

A career .331 hitter, Featherston has played in 180 games and amassed 234 hits. He tallied 42 doubles and 16 home runs while driving in 122. Featherston posted 71 multi-hit games and 29 multiple RBI contests.

Featherton joins Matt Purke as the first two Horned Frogs drafted in 2011. Purke was selected in the third round (96th overall) by the Washington Nationals.
