Frogs seek out good times, world record

There’s no hiding it, TCU likes to win.

Last weekend, students broke the world record for the most people playing hide and seek at one time.

Organizers of the event had people sign up online to ensure they would have enough people. But even with more than 200 people signed up, at game time, they were almost 40 short.

Creator of the event Michael Drozd got on a microphone and encouraged everyone to call a friend.

By 9:20 p.m., the chase was on.

Players hid in every nook and cranny of the University Recreation Center. For an hour, the halls were filled with shrieks and giggles of students and parents trying to escape the purple jersey player, who was “it.”

Senior Macy Zander said she wanted to play because it sounded like fun.

“I’m kind of like a giant kid at heart,” she said. “When they said hide and go seek, and I was like ah, I’m so there.”

Senior Brooke Johnson said this was the kind of thing she wanted to remember about her last year in college.

“So far this has been the most amazing senior year and so if I can be a part of breaking the world record for hide and seek then I want to be a part of it,” she said.

With 192 people, TCU unofficially holds the Guinness world record for the most people playing hide and seek at one time. The results will be official in a couple of weeks.
