College students seem to have a reliance on caffeine to get them through lectures and late night study sessions, but there are healthier alternatives to power through the day.

Men’s golf ties for 10th at Southern Highlands Collegiate Masters Tournament

The Horned Frogs finished the Southern Highlands Collegiate Masters Tournament Sunday tied for 10th place with Texas at +35 after totaling a three-day score of 899. Oklahoma State (-1) fired the low round of the day, a 5-under par 283, to pass by Texas A&M (+6) for the team championship. The Cowboys also boasted the individual champion in Morgan Hoffman at -10 for the weekend.

Daniel Jennevret, who led the Frogs on the individual leaderboard at the conclusion of each round, tied for 42nd overall at +1 after firing a 7-over par 79 on Sunday. Tom Hoge posted TCU’s low round of the tournament (70) to climb into a tie for 48th place at +12 alongside teammate Scott Roudebush, who fired a final-round 73.

Other Frog finishers included Pontus Gad, who tied for 50th at +13, and Johan de Beer, who was one stroke back in a tie for 55th place at +14.

TCU returns to action next weekend, when it travels to Goodyear, Ariz., for the Desert Shootout Thursday through Saturday at Palm Valley Golf Course.
