Cityview Lanes may sound like a new hotspot, and
it will be soon enough. It is actually the new name
for what was formerly Don Carter’s Cityview, a
long-time staple outing for TCU students. Cityview
Lanes bowling alley is under new management
and is getting a complete overhaul.

Just like Don Carter’s, Cityview Lanes does not
just offer more than 20 lanes of bowling. This
venue also has pool tables and an arcade for
the kid in you. Just for the adults, there will be
a revamped, fully-stocked bar. Until the bar is
finished, Cityview Lanes is BYOB.
According to a Cityview Lanes employee, Don
Carter’s was bought by new owners about a
month ago and will be seeing a lot of changes
in the coming months. For now, the bowling alley
is cluttered with crates full of the new lanes and
equipment that will soon be ready for use.
Along with new lanes, Cityview Lanes will have
new seating and a new look, accomplished by
a paint job on the outside of the building. A
Cityview bowling employee said the makeover
is expected to be finished in late May.
Don Carter’s has been a college hangout for
years, and new ownership will not change that.
Cityview Lanes is a great place for a group, large
or small, to spend a night out.
And the prices cannot be beat. Monday through
Thursday after 9 p.m., Cityview Lanes charges $1
per person, per game. Before 9 p.m., prices are
$3.75 per game or $18.75 per lane, per hour.
The alley is open 9 a.m. to 12 a.m Sunday through
Wednesday and 9 a.m. to 2 a.m. Thursday through
Saturday. Cityview Lanes is a great place to have fun
with friends and get a drink while avoiding smoky
bars filled with more-than-tipsy patrons
