Students encouraged to give campus improvement suggestions

“Let your voice reconstruct our campus” is the theme for the third annual Improve TCU Day Wednesday, a member of the Student Relations Committee said.

“The purpose of Improve TCU Day is to get ideas and reveal resources to strengthen the relationship between the student body and the student government,” said Myra Mills, senior music education major and chairwoman of the Student Relations Committee.

Students can submit ideas or comments by writing on the five graffiti boards located around campus or by going to the tables set up around the Clark Brothers statue and Market Square, Mills said.

The collected information will be logged into a database by the Student Relations Committee and then passed on to administration and student leaders.

Alex Collins, a sophomore broadcast journalism major, said students are also encouraged to design upcoming projects that they would like to implement around campus. By leaving their name and contact information with their suggestion, an SGA member can contact the student with ideas of ways to pursue his or her ideas.

All students who give suggestions on how to improve the university will be entered in a drawing to win coupons from Lenny’s Sub Shop, Fuzzy’s Taco Shop or Perrotti’s Pizza, Collins said. At the end of the event, the Student Relations Committee will pick three favorite ideas and reward each winner with a $25 iTunes gift card.
