The winter storm that blew through Fort Worth Tuesday morning is still wrecking havoc on local schools and businesses.

Classes at TCU were cancelled for a third consecutive day when the university sent out a text message on TCU ALERT at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday.

Temperatures are expected to remain below freezing until Saturday, when highs are projected to reach the upper 40s.

Some services on campus, such as the Brown-Lupton University Union and the Campus Recreation Center remain open but with modified snow hours.

The rec center opened at 10 a.m. Wednesday, and will close at 9 p.m., as opposed to its normal weekday hours of 6 a.m. to midnight.Hours for Thursday have not yet been decided.

Market Square dining hall and Union Grounds will close at 8 p.m., and 1873 Cafe & Grill will be closed all day. The BLUU building will remain open until its normal closing time of 2 p.m.

According to an e-mail from Michael Russel, Executive Director ofStudent Affairs Administration, power outages are anticipatedon campus in the next several days.

Electric Reliability Council of Texas will rotate outages in the area to conserve energy during times of high use due to inclement weather. The outages are expected to last no longer than 10-45 minutes.
