Volleyball team facing three opponents in TCU Molten Invitational

The TCU volleyball team kicks off the home portion of its 2010 schedule tonight against the Lady Braves of Alcorn State.

The Frogs are hosting the TCU Molten Invitational, which includes Alcorn State, Central Arkansas and the No. 21 LSU Tigers.

In an effort to pack the house for the tournament at the University Recreation Center, the TCU athletics marketing department is running a promotion for the game against LSU on Friday night. The first 250 fans to come to the game will get a free rally towel.

The Frogs are 2-1 following their appearance in the Burnt Orange Classic in Austin. During the tournament, the TCU women swept opponents Houston and McNeese State. Christy Hudson and Megan Munce both earned All-Tournament honors.

Brandie Davidson, TCU athletic media relations assistant, said TCU is eager to begin its home stint as the Frogs are riding a nine-game home winning streak going into the tournament.

The rec center has earned the reputation of a tough place for opponents to play, with the Frogs winning 46 home games there since 2006. With the high-profile LSU team coming to Fort Worth, the Lady Frogs hope the Molten Invitational will be no exception to their recent home success.
