Women’s club volleyball readies for first tournament

The women’s club volleyball team will host its first tournament this weekend at the University Recreation Center.

The tournament is the divisional round of the Southern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association and will determine what teams make it to the finals. TCU is hosting the North division of SIVA, which includes teams from Baylor, Texas Tech, Southern Methodist and Oklahoma State.

The Frogs have finished in the top third in their last four tournaments, a drastic improvement from last year when they finished last in their conference. If TCU finishes in the top-eight at divisionals, it will advance to the finals.

Games for the tournament will start at 9 a.m. Saturday in the main gym and special events gym.

The team practices every Monday and Wednesday night at the recreation center from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.
